The board of the Central Kansas Library System consists of 54 members appointed by the boards of local public libraries and 16 members appointed by the governor from the rural areas of the counties that levy the system tax. This full board meets twice a year to conduct the business of the System, to approve the budget, any resolutions, the system plan, and elect members to the Executive Committee.
Each library board may and should authorize a designated proxy holder as their voting representative if the regular voting member cannot attend.
- This voting is for the approval of the system plan and budget.
- We need a quorum of library representatives or their proxies and governor's appointees for the vote to be legitimate.
- The vote takes place at the business meeting after 1:30 on May 12, 2016.
- Make sure the proxy is at the event on the second day to vote. A proxy who only attends the first day will not be able to vote.
