Cataloging should not take up all your time when you get new books. Learn great tips on how to catalog quickly, efficiently and find good records.

How to search the catalog for existing records
How to do a Z39.50 search and grab the best record
What is a good record? What is a bad record?
I can’t find this record? What do I do?
Difficult records – Large print, Blu-ray, etc.

Workshop will end with discussion of possible changes to processing materials from Technical Services.

The 2016 CKLS System Plan contains two incentive grants.

  1. New Trustee Recruiting and Orientation Information
  2. Annual Library Director Evaluation

Both requirements improve libraries by providing frameworks for stepping back and thinking about and discussing what trustees and library directors need to know and should be doing. Such activities provide direction for trustees and directors. This workshop prepares library boards and directors to meet this requirement during 2016. We will provide and discuss examples you can use.
